In this video I show how you can test the mass air flow sensor in 3 seconds. You should check the mass air flow if you’re getting poor gas mileage, check engine light is on and getting code P0101, P0102, P0103 AND P0104, rough idle, hesitation when accelerating, engine running rich or lean.

I just replaced the MAF in my 98 Ford Explorer and it’s still acting the same as it did before I put in the new one in.
When I unplugged the wire harness it runs better, but as soon as I plug the wire harness back in, my truck completely dies 🤬

I agree with this but I actually thiught my maf was bad but it ended up being bank 1 upstream 02 sensir crapped out causing ecm to call for more fuel and it was too much and allowed for unplugging of maf to keep running and even smoother. Fyi
