2007-2017 Patriot: Throttle Body Repair

Lack of power, poor throttle response, a throttle control warning light, and a check engine light were all pointing to a faulty throttle body assembly on this 2014 Jeep Patriot with a 2.4L engine. P0221, P2135 trouble codes.

Many newer vehicles utilize a drive-by-wire throttle control system with no mechanical connection to the accelerator pedal. Problems with the throttle body control motor (actuator) have a noticeable effect on engine performance. Over thousands of miles, countless incremental adjustments take their toll on the small electronic motor. When these systems fail, they default to an idle or limp condition to prevent unsafe driving conditions.

In this video, I replace the throttle body assembly and install a new pigtail harness connection.
