  1. I don’t think you can judge stopping power based on contact area. There are so many factors in the equation human mind or feel can barely make a difference. On the test bench we might see some difference, but other than that it is so hard to tell. So if you want drill/slotted rotors just do it. I installed R1 CONCEPTS drill/slotted rotors on my BMW and I swear my brakes are more responsive than ever. Or is it because I also replaced my tires, shocks, bushings etc… So do you get the point?

  2. I just bought some Extremely Expensive front Rotors for my 2008 Jeep compass which also has 30,000lm Headlights I just bought Carbon Fiber Ceramic brakes extremely High performance supposedly they will last 75,000 Miles they are like 3x thicker than normal carbon ceramic they about 2x longer than my normal brake pads but my Rotors are Drilled and slotted with Zinc+Aluminized coating to heavily prevent any rust and it helps the rotor cool 4x faster I get them today I’m going to a Performance shop to have this all installed for 130$ why because I dont want to do it because of the cold weather rn in PA and I want them Installed Correctly tight to Complete Spec I will be watching

but there is a difference between both what you got wrong is Brake fade thats all you should care about normal rotor gas is trapped between the rotor and pad preventing the pad from touching the rotor but having drilled rotors the gas escapes and this applies to your truck and heavier trucks and cars you can keep your foot on the brake without brake fade performance could drop to 80% but normal rotors you get brake fade and its now 0% to 20% brake power
