  1. This is completely WORTHLESS!! I am replacing an alternator of different type, so the belt will be different. I can measure with a tape all day long, and it is not going to tell me HOW MUCH BIGGER the belt needs to be IN ORDER TO SLIP ON. Get it? Do I measure near the max adjustment? Everybody talks about measuring, that’s the easy part. No one talks about HOW to measure so it will both fit, AND slip onto the groove.

  2. You had a small belt to measure, but what about a long lawn mower deck belt, The way you showed would not work for a long deck belt

  3. I’m a Master Mechanic for 50 years! You cannot measure a belt with a ruler! If you measure that belt a new order a belt the link that you measure it will be off at least half inch to a 3/4 inch! I don’t know what kind of rulers belt manufacturers have but they need to repair them! Like if you have an A or a B belt and it says 49 inches it is 48 1/2 in!! I have a lot of experience at this stupid belt measuring LOL
