Love hearing from mechanics who’ve had X amount of years experience. You are mechanics , not engine reconditioners. Those liners are supposed to be that lose ( there is no interference) . No 2 pistons is fitted and bolted onto the crankshaft . When the crank is rotated the rings on the piston force the liner out. All he has done is push the liner back in. When you have done many , many hundred of them , like me , then you may comment.
this probably has to be done every oil change 😊
