Actually… chains can last long but….they are made like crap these days so they start to stretch and not to mention the chain guides made of plastic wear out by 100k miles so whether you have a chain or a belt, there’s a good chance you will be changing something at every 100k-150 miles (Honda recommends changing there belts every 87k miles) so what’s the difference in the long? Nothing…

  2. Timing chain engines are more reliable and long-lasting than timing belt engines in theory. The problem is that certain manufacturers always manage to not make them any more reliable.
